T.E.A.M. = Together Everyone Achieves More
It is a good time to speak about team, isn’t it?
Phil Jackson in his book Sacred
Hoops (1995) makes a simple, yet challenging observation: “… the most effective
way to forge a winning team is to call on the players’ need to connect with
something larger than themselves” (p. 5). He then goes on to say “It
requires individuals involved to surrender their self-interest for the
greater good so that the whole adds up to more than the sum of its parts”
(p.5).
Is this not the most fitting moment in time to come together to
form a strong team, a team of citizens committed to take care of each other by
a) Adhering
to the measures given by our leaders
b) Lending a
helping hand to those in need
c) Becoming
creative with how we spend our time (e.g. not blocking the internet because all
we can think to do is to stream movies or play games)
My son Julian made some good suggestions: get to know your parents better.
Connect with friends by phone. Clean up your paperwork. What can you think of?
